I can see why it’s called 77, Walter, but I’m afraid I don’t share your liking for insects. Those i encounter usually bite me, with the bite blooming into a large blister which takes weeks to go away. They especially like the area around my ankles, so sometimes evening wearing shoes can be difficult. That apart, I admit some insects, like ladybirds, can be cute as well as beneficial for ridding plants of aphids.

I admit that some insects can be very annoying. Mosquitoes are particularly cruel and know very well ruin a summer night.

The insect that really annoys in Scotland is the midge, tiny little insects that go around in the company of millions of others. On the west coast especially, they make life a nightmare on warm evenings when they chase people indoors. Midge bites can be extremely irritating. My husband has a bad reaction to them and swells up. Nasty.
